A customer needed a mover at short notice for a trip from Hawthorn East to an apartment building in Balwyn. In a May 2022 review on Find a Mover, they described what happened after JD Movers accepted the booking: the crew arrived promptly, got straight to loading the truck and unloaded at the new building.
What made this booking useful to remember
The customer’s concern was timing. They had booked late and valued how little time was lost between arrival, loading and unloading. The review doesn’t give the hours worked, the truck size or an inventory, so this move isn’t a reliable time or price estimate for another apartment.
Two different deadlines on an apartment move
If you’re arranging a similar move, distinguish between when you get the keys and when the building will let the truck unload. For example, keys being available all afternoon won’t help if the only approved lift slot ends at noon. Ask the building manager whether a loading bay or lift must be reserved. If there’s no booking requirement, say so rather than guessing a time window.
When you request a moving quote, send the pickup and delivery suburbs, the earliest access time, any hard finish time, and a short list of the largest pieces. That gives the team something concrete to check before offering a short-notice slot. For a longer planning checklist, see our apartment moving guide.
