One Piano, Several Steps: A Customer’s Moving Experience

This customer had just one item to move: a piano. The difficult part wasn’t the number of pieces but the weight of the instrument and the steps at the property. In a March 2022 Google review, the customer said Eric provided the quote and two movers completed the job. They described the handling as careful and the move as efficient.

Why “there are steps” is only the first question

A few broad steps leading straight to a doorway are a different access problem from a flight that ends at a tight turn. The review doesn’t identify the piano model, suburb, number of steps, equipment used or hours worked. In particular, a two-person crew on this job is not a staffing recommendation for another piano.

What to photograph before requesting a piano quote

Start with the instrument where it stands. If the model and dimensions are readily available, include them. Next, photograph the route to the truck: the doorway, each set of steps, any landing or turn, and the likely parking position. Repeat that exercise at delivery. A clear path out of one house does not tell the crew what awaits them at the other.

Don’t move or tilt the piano just to obtain a photograph or measurement. Identify anything you can’t safely check and leave it for assessment. Our piano removals page explains what we assess; you can request a quote once you have the access details.
